sample for Magazine

The reason why I chose this issue of Vibe magazine as my sample for my Front cover is because I like how the mast head is vibrant and bold also I like how the artist is the main focus on the from cover. Also the reason why I chose this contents page from Vibe magazine as my inspiration is because I like the layer of the columns. The reason why I chose this DPS as my sample is because i like how one whole page is covered with the image which is the main focus and the text is on the second page.

Introduction to the Studio.

Introduction to the Studio.

There are two different backdrops which are white and black backdrops. Also we were told not to have peers hanging around in the backdrop as this would look unprofessional in the pictures.

Trinity flash lights

• Fans rotating in the lights
• Soft boxing covering the light as its too bright 
• They defuse and soften the light

Also we should take images from different angles to have a variety of different pictures.

Make sure the camera settings are always set on 3 as the max is 6. The flash is brighter as the settings go higher. Also we must remember to get images from different angles to gain the best shot of the models. The Back light and reflectors are good for creating certain definitions on the face.

Also we have to make sure to be careful with the GODOX soft brand as the light system has small bulb that can easily crack if it is not dealt with properly which is underneath the cover.
Also the 'beep' sound represents that the camera is on Auto Focus. The view finder is too see the shot in more detail also this makes it easier to zoom in or out.

Task 5: Magazine newsstand task

I took an image of the music magazine section in WHSmith. There are various types of music magazine in one row. The music magazines weren't put in specific genres, they were all mixed as you can see that a Jazz magazine is placed next to a magazine with the Beatles and on top of that there is a magazine featuring harry styles. Harry Styles does pop music and the Beatles were a rock band this shows that the magazines weren't placed in specific genres. the magazine that stands out the most is the magazine with Harry Styles name on it as the masthead has a bright yellow background also because the artist is very well known. This shows that although that magazine isn't right at the front, it still appeals to the buyers because of the bright and bold masthead. Most of the magazines are covered by other magazines, you can only see the mastheads on the magazines this is probably why most magazines use bold mastheads to attract their audience as most of the cover lines and front cover images are covered unless they are in the front row. Magazines can be distributed all over the world by mail, through sales on newsstands, bookstores like WHSmith or supermarkets.

The reason why I picked this picture is because he is a popular artist and is an international star. He is well known is the music industry and has an army of fans. I used photoshop to edit the photo's using the layers, i enhanced the image lighting through adjustments on photoshop. Also I cropped the artist background making it look like an entire image that covers the whole page. I used the magic1 tool to crop the LSC sign so it fits around the image. The artist is representing the genre through his facial expressions. The photo pose is a direct address.
